Cultural Program Office is currently cooperating with Goethe-Institut, Amsterdam in the project of Euro-Mediterranean Academy for Young Journalists Amsterdam 2009, the project aim is to enable the young participants to create active information networks and sustainable cooperation beyond borders,

Content of the Project:
The project topics is related to the field of “migration issues” to work on during the EMAJ 2009 academy:
- Refuges (persons in need of international protecftion); tension in between: refuges – immigrants - expats
- Work-related immigration
- Women’s rights and gender issuesf
- Urban dimension
- The 2nd generation of immigrants (language, education, integration)
- Historical dimension of migration
- Integration (institutions, procedures, legacy, policy, positive sides of integration/migration)
- Language problems
- Migration as a common experience in the European history and the history of the Mediterranean states
- Journalists with a migration background
Participants:
The group of 20 young journalists (in the last years of their university education or in the first years of their professional career) from the whole Euro-Mediterranean region - 10 from the EU member states and 10 from the Mediterranean countries taking part in the Barcelona Process (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Mauritania) - was selected to participate in the EMAJ 2009-academy.
